What about in Canada?! :( Nobody loves Canadians...D;
Anyways, Teri, I absolutely love your books! I would read them at the library and gasp and sit at the edge of my seat and talk to myself-they had me looking like a complete moron! (Which I am, but
people were staring at me funny :D) I can't WAIT for Shattered! Will you be writing any books outside of the Slated trilogy anytime soon? *_*
teriterry (Tuesday, 30 July 2013 17:39)
Hi Kirsten, I LOVE CANADIANS!
(I'm Canadian, too, though I haven't lived there for a while).
The dates in Canada tend to be about the same as the US, but just a few days later.
I've pretty much finished writing Shattered now so I'm working out what the next thing will be.
Julia46 (Saturday, 10 August 2013 22:40)
Teri Terry, You are one of my favourite authors! I have really enjoyed reading Slated and Fractured. I think you are a very talented writer and the way you have written these books engaged me so much
that I couldn't stop thinking about them. And the whole storyline suggest your very creative because I never read a book like that. And my birthday is in April so I'll be hoping to get shattered for
my Birthday. Oh and 1 question: Did you have an inspiration of any kind to write this fabulous trilogy or did you just spend thinking what it could be about and thought that. You should know that I
love reading and I am dedicated to it and I am into supernatural-creature books, mystery, romance and many more and it is a privilege for me to read your books. <3
Rebecca (Friday, 16 August 2013 21:16)
I LOVE Slated and Fractured and just as I finished Fractured (a day ago) I was thinking of titles for your third book... and weirdly...one of the thoughts I had was Shattered!!!!! I was so freaked
out just now when I saw! I can't wait to see what happens with Kyla and Ben and Dr Lysander (: please write more stuff like this or carry on the story with them for a while after the third book
PLEASE??????? These are fast becoming my favourite books! Rebecca (:
teriterry (Sunday, 18 August 2013 10:25)
Hi Julie & Rebecca,
Aw thanks for such lovely comments!
And yep Shattered is out March 6 (in the UK) so perfect for April birthday.
It is really hard to answer questions about where stories come from. With Slated, it started with a dream that I had - so I suppose it was lurking in my subconscious.
Bubbles (Wednesday, 21 August 2013 15:53)
Hi when will Shattered be available in Australia can't wait for it though!!!!
Darcy (Monday, 26 August 2013 05:24)
I have to say, I am most exited for the new book: shattered. I love the books: slated and fractured and I am happy to say that you are now my new favourite author and I have never enjoyed a book like
the ones you've written! I have also just finished fractured(10 mins ago) and I was so eager to find out when your new book is out. I cannot wait for its release, but hate how long we have to wait
till we can read it, but it's defiantly something to look forward to! The books: slated and fractured fractured was so engaging and fascinating, these books were a pleasure to read, and I rarely
enjoy books as much as I have with yours...so thankyou very much.
marzi (Wednesday, 28 August 2013 21:57)
I can't wait, I just finished Fractured today and it was AMAZING- I can't stop thinking about it!!!!!!!!
Isabella (Thursday, 29 August 2013 19:13)
I really loved Slated/Fractured- they were amazing! Literally, it was amazing- I cried for Katran- he was such an awesome character! Katran was my favourite character even though he was not a
seriously major character! I really like they way that you write because I can feel the emotions and what goes through Kyla/Rain's head which doesn't happen very often. I can't wait for next march! I
was wondering if you were going to make any other competitions though (like a name of a character) because I've been too late for the others but I really want like a part in this trilogy!! And I wish
the Slated trilogy would be made into a movie ;)
P.S. Teri Terry- your name is sooo awesome!!!! :D
teriterry (Tuesday, 03 September 2013 21:12)
Aw thanks for the comments, guys!
Shattered should be out in Australia at about the same time as in the UK (March 6th), but I haven't been given a date for it yet.
And unfortunately it is too late to name any more characters in Shattered: it's nearly finished now, just some very final, final editing to go.
Hope you all enjoy it as much as the first two: thank you so much!
Cher Narcess (Saturday, 07 September 2013 12:58)
OMIGAWD I love your books you're like the best author ever
*fangurling happily* I onl wish it'll come out much sooner!
PLEASE GIVE US A BIGGER EXCERPT THAN THE KINDLE/AMAZON ONE CUZ WE ARE ALL DYING FOR SHATTERED
No, seriously, please~
Celia (Saturday, 07 September 2013 23:07)
Man, I can't believe this is so accessible! I mean, I love how it's so easy and simple to just type a message, and soon know you've read it! It must be wonderful to hear so many positive views of
your book from people all over the world! (I'm in the UK, by the way)
I just finished Fractured today (only realized why it was 'Fractured' near the end.) I love mysterious titles that have hidden meanings discovered later in the book! It just gives the whole thing...
depth, you know? But of course you know. You made the title!
Anyway, what I really wanted to say is: MY BIRTHDAY IS ON MARCH THE 10th! SO i can just go to town and buy it as a birthday present!
Think it'll be in the W H Smith by then?
Shattered is an awesome title by the way. Best wishes on your next series! (or standalone!)
Celia (Saturday, 07 September 2013 23:50)
I've been thinking... You know Phoebe? Well, if you haven't included her in 'Shattered', then you could do a spin off with her! It would be really cool to carry on her story! 'Slater-Hater' aside, I
loved her personality, her tenderness towards animals, her passion with drawing and art, even though we only caught a glimpse through Kyla's eyes. Inside she was so creative, so compassionate to
those beings that needed her help, and overall had(has!) so much potential as a character you could use again! Also, you described Phoebe in the story as not having a very good start in life, what
with her father's harsh attitude toward her and total disregard concerning her disappearance, and mother's helplessness. These are precisely the sort of backgrounds the terrorist or 'disturbed'
children in the 'Slated' world were known to come from, which was why the whole thing was invented. Wouldn't it be interesting to see what happens to her next, the family she stays with, the memories
she may or may not recover?! Is her life better or worse than it used to be?! I really want to know! Or, if you wouldn't be interested in writing a spin off, then could you at least tell me your
rough idea of what happens to her after her slating?!
Oh, and you know Katran? PLEASE DON'T LET HIM ACTUALLY DIE! HE DIDN'T DESERVE IT! But maybe that's one of the things that spurs Kyla on... the unfair death of one who loved her... But still! The
minute he died, I was like 'No, he's going to get back up, or pass out and continue faintly breathing, but need a hospital.' I couldn't believe he actually died! IS HE STILL ALIVE OR NOT?!
And what about Cam? Was all that kindness really just a lie? Could he have done that? Would he really have willingly killed Kyla? I mean... It doesn't seem possible... I kinda like him until he
turned bad... Please let him have a conscience...
I also heard you wanted Slated to be a stand-alone at first! I'm so glad you changed your mind! I generally dislike stand-alones, excepting the odd wonder-book, but I really think books in a series
are much better! They give you time to think over the story, and all in all create a lasting effect of what the book has to say. Plus you enjoy the story for longer, which is generally what all
authors would like!
I also quite liked the impact the the covers of 'Slated' and 'Fractured' have on the reader prior to reading the book. While in the first one while she doesn't really know too much about her self,
the cover's cold, white, with slate-black all around, symbolizing emptiness, yet the bright green of her eyes just shines out from it all, gaping wide, like she's open to the world. Whereas in
Fractured, you can obviously see she's learned something, her eyes narrowed, whether with suspicion or confusion, the reader has yet to see. Also, in sharp contrast to the prequel, this book's cover
is warm and full of life, the colours more vivid, the blonde of her hair, the pink of her lips, her face more...human. She's visibly and intellectually changed; has more secrets to hide, more people
to fear, more things to learn. Also, I think the cover suits the fact that this book has more action, more adrenaline, more rebellion. She's finally showing her colours. A friend saw me reading it at
school and told me the cover was nice. (she doesn't hand out compliments very often. Has an eye for quality)
I think sometimes people don't realize the impact and importance of a cover for a reader; it can affect their whole impression of a book.
And I, for one, LOVE your covers.
P.S. Do you know the model for the covers? Have you seen and spoken to her?WHAT'S SHE LIKE?!
P.P.S. Who designs the covers?
Celia (Friday, 13 September 2013 15:47)
Do you think you'd want to do a spinoff with Phoebe?
And is Katrans REALLY DEAD?!
And is Cam REALLY EVIL?!
teriterry (Monday, 16 September 2013 09:57)
Hi Cher, thank you so much!
And Celia, I'm sure Shattered should be in shops by 10th March: sounds like a perfect birthday present.
And sorry you'll have to wait and see what happens next...no spoilers!
The covers are great, aren't they? They are designed by a designer named Thy at my publisher. The cover model is Hayley - she is Australian. I interviewed her a while back: the link is
